Cefn Manor

Cefn House (the Main House) is a large refurbished farm house providing spacious high quality accommodation, including well furnished sitting rooms which have a welcoming. relaxed atmosphere and home comforts of the highest quality. There ia a considerable amount of shared living space available which provide residents with opportunities to socialise or have some quiet times while not intruding on individual space.

The rooms at Cefn Manor are well furnished, and we pride in ourselves by including traditional old Farmhouse furnisher, which gives Cefn Manor that comfortable home life.

On the ground floor there is a large outer hallway leading into the main hallway, where service users can be reassured that a record of all visitors to the care home is retained.

There are two spacious furnished communal lounges, one of which has an active area to encourage and support socialising and interaction with pool table, games consoles and fitness equipment available to service users. The second communal lounge has a choice of relaxing seating, TV and board games. Both areas are domestic in nature and have a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere. Sky television is available in all communal lounges. The house has a specious and well-appointed communial kitchen with its own dining table for communal casual dining and can often be found to be the "hub" of the home.

In addition to the dining table facilities in the kitchen there is a separate dining room, offering choice as to where service users can take their meals. This room is often used as a multi-purpose area for service users to meet, for structured/planned activities such as arts and crafts, jewellery and soap making, homework sessions for those engaged in adult education courses and further education. General notices of events, activities and external services such as support groups, voluntary service and advocacy services are displayed for easy access for service users and visitors.

In close proximity to the kitchen is a secure, locked medication room, easily accessible to service users with staff support to offer privacy in the dispensing, administration and discussion around medications as required.

There is an accessible large utility room, with modern washing and drying facilities available for use at all times. Cleaning solutions and substances hazardous to health are stored within locked and restricted access cupboards within the utility room, accessible with staff support in line with individual risk assessments and support plans.

The ground floor also features a communal WC with hand wash facilities. The first floor offers six en-suite service user bedrooms approximately 16 square meters in size which can have a double or single bed depending on service user's preference.

Service users are encouraged to decorate their rooms to their own taste.

All windows on the first floor are fitted with recognised and approved restrictors in line with fire policy. There is also a communal bathroom on this floor, which is equipped with a bath, shower and a WC. An open and accessible linen cupboard, which has been divided into individual storage compartments, offers safe storage, respecting the privacy and dignity for service user's personal laundry and bedding to be stored separately.

Located on the second floor are the manager's office, staff training room and staff rest room with the availability of lockers for the safe storage of staff personal belongings whilst they are on shift.

The private garden is spacious, with large lawns along the rear and sides of the building. There is a paved patio area with outside seating and BBQ facilities
